Kyle Lowry receives Key to the City of Toronto

Former Toronto Raptors player Kyle Lowry was awarded the Key to the City of Toronto during a celebration at Jurassic Park, the fan gathering area outside Scotiabank Arena. Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow presented the honor, citing Lowry’s leadership, determination, and contributions to both the basketball court and the local community.

Lowry played nine seasons with the Raptors starting in 2012, leading the franchise to its first NBA championship in 2019. He holds several franchise records, including assists, steals, and three-point field goals. The event included appearances by former teammates such as DeMar DeRozan, Fred VanVleet, and Danny Green.

Following a ceremonial one-day contract to officially retire as a Raptor, Lowry’s No. 7 jersey is scheduled to be raised to the rafters at Scotiabank Arena on January 10, 2027.
