Kyle MacLachlan reflects on past relationships in upcoming memoir
In his upcoming memoir, Fictional Selves, set for release on September 29, actor Kyle MacLachlan reflects on his past romantic relationships, specifically his breakup with Laura Dern.
MacLachlan admits that his four-year relationship with Dern, which lasted from 1985 to 1989, ended after he developed feelings for his Twin Peaks co-star, Lara Flynn Boyle. He described the transition as ‘not my best moment’ and acknowledged that pursuing Boyle destroyed his bond with Dern at the time.
Despite the past turmoil, MacLachlan noted that he and Dern have since healed their relationship and mended their friendship. The two have collaborated on screen multiple times, including the 2017 revival of Twin Peaks.
