Kyle Nelson and Cristian Perez prepare for UFC Edmonton matchup

UFC lightweight Kyle Nelson and newcomer Cristian Perez are set to face each other at UFC Edmonton. Both fighters received approximately five to six weeks of notice regarding the matchup.

Nelson, looking to recover from a knockout loss in March, expressed confidence in his wrestling and grappling abilities despite being considered an underdog. He noted that while Perez has a strong 15-2 record and good boxing skills, he believes his own defensive and offensive grappling will prevail.

Making his UFC debut, Perez aims to make an immediate impact by securing a ‘Performance of the Night’ bonus. The Mexican fighter described his style as more explosive than Nelson’s and stated his intention to dominate the bout rather than engage in a long, back-and-forth contest.
