Kyle Ryde Sets New Lap Record and Wins Opening British Superbike Race at Brands Hatch

Kyle Ryde claimed pole position for the 2026 British Superbike Championship at Brands Hatch, posting a 1:23.954 lap that broke the series' all‑time record. His teammate Scott Redding qualified second, 0.42 seconds slower, while Max Cook completed the front row.

In the opening race, Ryde converted his pole into a victory, leading a close battle with Redding before the event was red‑flagged with two laps remaining after Eugene McManus crashed at Paddock Hill Bend. The medical team treated McManus for suspected fractures to his shoulder blade, arm and leg before he was taken to hospital. Max Cook finished third, and Leon Haslam was fourth after a hard‑fought five‑way scrap.

The race results left Ryde atop the championship standings with 218 points, followed by Redding on 199 points.
