Kyle Teel to begin White Sox rehab assignment
Chicago White Sox catcher Kyle Teel is set to begin a rehab assignment with the Triple-A Charlotte Knights on Tuesday. The 24-year-old has faced a challenging season marked by multiple leg injuries, including a right hamstring strain sustained during the World Baseball Classic, a knee ligament sprain during a previous rehab stint, and a left ankle sprain suffered on July 20.
Teel’s return is expected by early September, which presents a roster management challenge for the White Sox. The club must decide how to integrate him back into the lineup alongside current options Drew Romo and veteran Jake Rogers. While Rogers provides significant postseason experience and veteran leadership, Romo has recently demonstrated strong performance.
