Kyler Gordon rehabbing calf injury away from Chicago Bears

Chicago Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon is rehabbing a calf injury away from the team using a personal trainer. According to reports from Ian Rapoport, Gordon aims to return to practice a few weeks into the season.

Gordon is currently on injured reserve, which requires him to miss at least the first four games of the season before becoming eligible to return. While there is optimism regarding a Week 5 return, his history of injuries has caused tension within the organization. Gordon is in the second year of a three-year, $40 million extension following a season where he was limited to three regular-season games.

Bears General Manager Ryan Poles previously expressed uncertainty regarding Gordon’s future with the team, stating he only “hoped” the player would play for Chicago again. The decision to rehab away from the team’s medical staff has reportedly contributed to friction between Gordon and the organization.
