Kylian Mbappé Becomes France’s All‑Time Leading Scorer

Kylian Mbappé scored a double in France’s 3‑1 victory over Senegal, taking his tally to 58 international goals and surpassing Olivier Giroud as the nation’s top scorer. The milestone was reached during the early stages of the 2026 World Cup.

An Odoxa poll conducted on 17‑18 June 2026 asked French respondents to rank the greatest players in the history of the French team. Mbappé rose to second place with 19 % of the vote, up seven points since 2020, behind Zinédine Zidane (44 %). He also led the match‑day vote for best player, receiving 77 % of the public’s support. The match attracted 52 % of the French population, with 89 % reporting they saw the game in some form.
