Kylian Mbappé ordered to pay 60,000 euros to PSG
The Paris Court of Appeal has ordered Kylian Mbappé to pay 60,000 euros to his former club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), following a legal dispute regarding the seizure of the club's funds in 2025.
The ruling stems from a period between April 10 and May 25, 2025, when Mbappé's legal team successfully obtained a precautionary seizure of 55 million euros from PSG's accounts to secure unpaid wages and bonuses. While the seizure was eventually lifted after a judge determined PSG had sufficient guarantees of payment, the court has now ruled that the 45-day freeze caused concrete economic harm, forcing the club to utilize a credit line to manage its ordinary financial needs.
Although the court ordered the compensation for these costs, it rejected PSG's additional claims for damages to its reputation and moral image. This decision serves as a minor chapter in a much larger legal conflict between the player and the club, which previously saw PSG ordered to pay Mbappé approximately 61 million euros in unpaid salaries and bonuses.
