Kylian Mbappé settles legal fee dispute for 1.5 million euros
Kylian Mbappé has reached an out-of-court settlement to pay approximately 1.5 million euros to the legal team that represented him in his dispute with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The lawyers, including Pierre-Olivier Sur, Thomas Clay, and Frederic Casero, had initially sought 6.2 million euros in success fees based on a compensation agreement linked to the outcome of the case.
The legal battle stemmed from a December 2025 ruling by a Paris labor court, which ordered PSG to pay Mbappé 60.9 million euros in unpaid wages, bonuses, and interest. While PSG announced in February 2026 that it would not appeal the decision, disputes remained regarding the full payment of the awarded amount.
The settlement regarding legal fees was reached after Mbappé’s camp rejected the full 6.2 million euro claim, reportedly to avoid being treated as a “cash cow.” Although a previous agreement involving Mbappé’s mother, Fayza Lamari, had not been signed, the parties ultimately agreed on the 1.5 million euro figure in addition to standard fees for work performed.
