Kylie Kelce apologizes to Kate Middleton for royal title error

Kylie Kelce, host of the podcast ‘Not Gonna Lie’, has issued a public apology to Catherine, Princess of Wales, following a breach of royal protocol. The apology comes after Kelce used the informal title ‘Princess Kate’ and referred to her as the ‘Duchess of Cambridge’ during a September 24 episode.

During that previous episode, Kelce had extended an invitation for the Princess to appear on her show to discuss shared interests such as motherhood and field hockey. Following feedback regarding the inaccuracy of the titles, Kelce used her October 1 episode to address the error directly. She noted that she was unaware the terminology was considered inappropriate or offensive in a formal context.

Kelce stated, ‘I love learning, so I was unaware that calling Princess Catherine, Princess Kate was offensive. Now I know that. Now I will proceed accordingly.’ She further addressed the Princess directly, promising to use the correct formal titles, such as ‘Princess Catherine’ or ‘the Princess of Wales’, moving forward.
