Kylie Kelce discusses professional identity and the “WAG” label

During an appearance on the “IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson” podcast, Kylie Kelce discussed the limitations of the “WAG” label, which refers to the wives and girlfriends of athletes. Kelce argued that the term can flatten individual identities and overlook the professional accomplishments of these women.

As an example, Kelce highlighted Brittany Mahomes, a co-owner of the Kansas City Current professional soccer team. Kelce noted that while Mahomes is widely recognized due to her connection to NFL quarterback Patrick Mahomes, she has established a significant professional presence in the sports business through her involvement with women’s soccer and the development of CPKC Stadium.

Kelce also shared personal anecdotes regarding her relationship with former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce, including how they met on a dating app and her initial concerns about potential profile scams.
