Kylie Minogue bikini snap sparks online buzz and Australian political stir
Pop icon Kylie Minogue, 58, returned to music in 2024 with the album Tension II and launched her 16th world tour. In May she released a three‑part documentary on Netflix titled Kylie. During a short summer break on the island of Corsica, she posted an Instagram video and a bikini photo taken by the pool. The image quickly went viral, with fans flooding the comments with praise such as “goddess”, “queen” and “10‑out‑of‑10 body”.
The same photo triggered a political controversy in Australia. While appearing on the comedy podcast Bush Deep, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was asked to rank three famous Australian women—Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman and Ronda Bertram—in a hypothetical “Sex, Marriage or Date” game. Albanese answered “all of the above”, a response that attracted extensive media coverage and sparked debate about the relevance of the question.
