Kymco compares Downtown GT 350i and Xciting VS 400i scooters

Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco is positioning two mid-range scooters, the Downtown GT 350i TCS and the Xciting VS 400i ABS, to compete for market share in 2026.

The primary distinction between the two models is engine displacement. The Downtown GT 350i TCS features a 321cc single-cylinder engine producing 21 kW (28.6 PS) and 30 Nm of torque. The Xciting VS 400i ABS utilizes a 400cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 24.5 kW (33.3 PS) and 37.5 Nm of torque.

Despite weighing 28 kg more than the Downtown, the Xciting is noted for being more agile during acceleration and overtaking. In terms of top speed, Kymco lists the Xciting at 140 km/h and the Downtown at 130 km/h, though digital speedometer readings showed higher speeds for both. While the Xciting offers better wind protection via a manually adjustable windscreen, the Downtown provides significantly more under-seat storage space.
