KYMCO España receives official carbon footprint reduction seal
KYMCO España, a company part of Human Mobility, has been awarded the ‘Calculo y Reduzco’ seal by Spain’s Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge. This distinction certifies that the brand has met specific emission reduction criteria, achieving an 8.06% reduction in average emission intensity during the 2022-2024 period compared to the previous three years (2021-2023).
The recognition places the firm within a very small group in the Ministry’s carbon footprint registry. Out of 21,143 registered footprints as of September 2026, only 522 hold the ‘Calculo y Reduzco’ seal covering Scopes 1, 2, and 3. Among small and medium-sized enterprises, only 136 registrations—approximately 0.64% of the total—possess this certification.
This achievement follows a voluntary carbon footprint measurement strategy initiated by KYMCO España in 2019. The company was a pioneer in Spain by certifying its footprint under the ISO 14064-1 international standard. The scope of the calculation includes complex Scope 3 indirect emissions, such as upstream and downstream transport and distribution, employee commuting, business travel, capital goods, and the production of acquired goods and services related to the import and commercialization of motorcycles and spare parts.
