Kymco prepares CV-X45 adventure scooter for EICMA debut
Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco is expected to unveil the CV-X45, a new crossover adventure scooter, at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The model appears to be the production version of the CV-R5 concept shown in late 2024 and is designed to compete in the growing adventure-scooter market, specifically targeting the Honda X-ADV.
The CV-X45 is built for the A2 license category and features a 427cc water-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 34 PS and 40 Nm of torque. Developed at the Kymco European Design Center in Bologna, the scooter utilizes a traditional motorcycle-style engine mounting within the frame and a chain final drive, rather than the swingarm-integrated drive common in many scooters. This architecture aims to improve mass distribution and dynamic handling.
Technical specifications include a 15-inch front wheel with upside-down forks and dual disc brakes, and a 14-inch rear wheel. Standard equipment is expected to include ABS, a digital cockpit, and cruise control. While official pricing and market launch dates have not been announced, industry experts anticipate an initial rollout in Italy and Spain, followed by other European markets such as Germany.
