Čkyně opens Kosí stezka nature trail

A new educational nature trail named ‘Kosí stezka’ has officially opened in the garden of the Municipal Office in Čkyně. The 700-meter route is designed to combine nature education with family-friendly entertainment.

The trail features eight uniquely decorated birdhouses that were hand-painted by local children, parents, and grandparents during a community art meeting at the local synagogue. To enhance the experience, visitors can scan QR codes at various stations to listen to bird calls and learn about different species. The project also includes interactive tasks for children to help them discover and remember information about bird life.

Developed by the Cultural and Beautification Association of Čkyně to commemorate its 20th anniversary, the project received financial support from the South Bohemian Region. Printed maps are available at the local synagogue during the summer and at the municipal library during the winter. Children who complete the trail's tasks and submit their maps can receive a small reward.
