Kyojo Cup features driver transitions and Maaya Orido's return

The Kyojo Cup, Japan's premier all-female single-seater championship, continues to see significant activity as it enters its second year. Driver Rina Ito, who transitioned from being a race queen to a racing driver, shared insights into her progress during the 2026 series at Fuji Speedway. Ito noted that while she has become more comfortable with the formula machines and engaging in battles, her current focus is on improving lap times to achieve consistency with the rest of the field.

In a notable development for the season finale, Maaya Orido is set to return to the championship. After a last-minute withdrawal from the 2026 season to compete in the All-Japan EV Championship, Orido will rejoin the series with the newcomer New'z Racing Club. Orido, who previously held a fourth-place position in the overall championship, will compete in her signature #59 car during the upcoming rounds on October 31 and November 1.
