Kyokuto Fe-Development opens new technical center in Toyota
Kyokuto Fe-Development Co., Ltd. has officially commenced operations at its new Kyokuto Fe-Development Group Technical Center in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture. The facility serves as a central hub for the research and development of special-purpose vehicles and trailers.
The center features a 600-meter-long test course designed for oval driving tests, including a 100-meter specialized track with three distinct surfaces: a Belgian road to simulate cobblestones, a long-wave road, and a variable protrusion road. This allows for rigorous durability testing under various environmental conditions.
A key highlight is the introduction of Japan’s first road simulator capable of performing full-scale vibration evaluations on entire large trailers. The facility also includes specialized buildings for environmental and hydraulic testing, a factory building for prototyping and inspection, and an office building to integrate development and quality assurance teams.
By consolidating technical expertise, personnel, and advanced equipment, the company aims to accelerate the development cycle and address social challenges such as logistics labor shortages, rising fuel costs, CO2 reduction, and increasing natural disasters.
