Kyoto and Koyasan connected by direct express bus service

Nankai Rinkan Bus and Keihan Bus are operating a direct express bus service connecting Kyoto and the World Heritage site of Koyasan. The service is available for a limited time through November 29, 2026.

The bus route allows travelers to move between Kyoto and Koyasan in approximately 160 minutes without transfers, providing a convenient option for tourists, pilgrims, and families traveling with large luggage. The service is supported by Wakayama Prefecture to promote regional tourism and connect the Keihanshin area to its World Heritage sites.

Fares vary by season: from April to September, a one-way ticket costs 3,000 yen, while from October to November, the price is 3,200 yen. Round-trip options are also available.
