Kyoto and Shiga experience seasonal temperature drop and weather warnings

Kyoto and Shiga prefectures recorded their coldest temperatures of the autumn season on October 29, with Kyoto City seeing its first morning below 10 degrees Celsius. This sudden chill follows the observation of the first cold wind of the season.

In addition to the temperature drop, the Kyoto Local Meteorological Observatory issued warnings for unstable atmospheric conditions on October 30. Residents are advised to prepare for potential severe weather, including sudden thunderstorms, strong gusts, and hail throughout the day and night.

Meanwhile, tourism in Kyoto continues with seasonal activities. While major autumn foliage spots are expected to be crowded, local guides suggest quieter alternatives such as the Mother and Child Forest in the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Takenaka Inari Shrine to avoid peak congestion.
