Japan Ministry of Defense to build new ammunition depots in Kyoto

Japan's Ministry of Defense has requested budget allocations for the construction of new ammunition depots to enhance logistical resilience and support sustained combat capabilities.

In Kyoto Prefecture, plans include the construction of a new building for a Ground Self-Defense Force ammunition depot in the southern part of the prefecture, as well as the establishment of two additional depots in the northern region. These infrastructure developments are part of the fiscal year 2027 budget requests aimed at strengthening military storage and protection capabilities.
