Kyoto initiatives focus on multiculturalism and urban greening

Kyoto City will hold the first meeting of the Fiscal Year 2026 Kyoto City International Exchange and Multicultural Coexistence Council on August 20, 2026. The council aims to advance the city’s international vision, with this session focusing on promoting interaction and mutual understanding between foreign residents and the local community.

Separately, the 43rd National Urban Greening Fair, also known as the Kyoto Tanba Midori no Sato Matsuri, is scheduled to take place from September 18 to November 8, 2026, in the Kyoto Tanba region (Kameoka, Nantan, and Kyotamba). The event focuses on the theme of food, agriculture, environment, and art, utilizing the natural landscape to promote regional revitalization. A media preview tour is scheduled for September 15, 2026, covering five key locations including Kameoka Bozu River Park and various natural sites.
