Kyoto railways celebrate major station anniversaries

Various railway milestones are being celebrated in the Kyoto region. A ceremony was held at Amano Station on the Kyoto Tango Railway to commemorate its 100th anniversary of operation. The event included the installation of commemorative plates featuring quotes from baseball legends.

In preparation for the 150th anniversary of Kyoto Station in 2027, JR West and several partner companies have launched the ‘Kyoto, Zutto’ project. A series of pre-event festivities, known as the Kyoto Station 150th Anniversary Commemorative Marche, will take place across multiple locations including JR Kyoto Isetan, Kyoto Porta, Umekoji Potel Kyoto, and the Kyoto Station Building. Activities include workshops, photo exhibitions, stamp rallies, and the sale of collaborative goods.
