Kyoto region to host bamboo festivals and national greenery fair
Kyoto City and Muko City will co-host the ‘Take Musubi Festa 2026’ on October 17, 2026, at Rakusai Chikurin Park. The event focuses on utilizing bamboo, a shared resource of both cities, to promote regional revitalization, tourism, and community exchange. Activities include digital stamp rallies, bamboo lantern making, and traditional bamboo toy experiences. A related event, ‘Take no Michi • Kaguya no Yube,’ will feature approximately 4,000 bamboo lanterns floating on water to illuminate the bamboo grove.
Separately, the 43rd National Urban Greenery Fair in Kyoto Tanba, also known as the ‘Kyoto Tanba Midori no Sato Matsuri,’ is scheduled to take place from September 18 to November 8, 2026. Spanning Kameoka, Nantan, and Kyotamba, the fair aims to redefine natural environments by blending local landscapes with art. Toyo Rice Co., Ltd. has joined as a ‘Diamond Partner’ sponsor to support the event’s promotion and various activities designed to showcase the region’s food, agriculture, and environment.
