Kyoto regional development and tourism initiatives
The Kyoto Prefecture Travel Industry Cooperative held an exchange meeting on September 24 to foster collaboration with regional Destination Management Organizations (DMOs). The event aimed to create new travel products and promote wide-area tourism within the prefecture. During the meeting, Chairman Manabu Tsuneta emphasized the importance of “co-creation” to increase added value and customer satisfaction.
In a separate regional development initiative, a new promotion council has been established for the Kansai Science City located in southern Kyoto Prefecture. The council was formed to implement the “5th Stage Plan,” a new urban development strategy involving various administrative and research institutions. The inaugural chairperson noted that the long-term goals of the council are aimed at achieving significant results over the next decade.
