Kyoto to host sports and art festivals in late 2026

Kyoto will host two major community events in late 2026 focused on sports and culture. The KYOTO GAMES Festival 2026 is scheduled for November 1 at the Kyoto Prefectural Yamashiro General Sports Park. This event features e-sports and urban sports experiences, including titles such as ‘eFootball™’ and ‘GEROGUE’, as well as double dutch performances by the professional team NEWTRAD.

Additionally, the KYOTO Station-Inside Art Project 2026 will run from November 20, 2026, to January 27, 2027. Organized by the Kyoto City Transportation Bureau and 13 local universities, the project will display student artworks across 11 subway stations under the theme ‘UPDATE’. The initiative aims to revitalize the subway system and promote Kyoto as a city of culture and arts through exhibitions, keyword rallies, and AR experiences.
