Kyoto universities offer public lecture series for adult lifelong learning

Universities in Kyoto are offering various public lecture series designed for lifelong learning among adults. These programs aim to provide specialized knowledge to the community through both in-person and hybrid formats.

Kyoto University is hosting its 155th Marunouchi Seminar, featuring a lecture by Hirotsugu Kojima from the Institute for Survivalist Studies. The session, titled “Space Environment Surrounding Expanding Human Activities: Earth, Moon, and Mars,” will explore how the plasma-filled space environment affects objects and human activities as exploration moves beyond Earth.

Other institutions, such as Kyoto Women's University and Ritsumeikan University, are also engaging the public. Kyoto Women's University recently held a seminar on mental health and nutrition, while Ritsumeikan University offers Saturday lectures on social issues, such as child abuse prevention, utilizing real-time subtitling to ensure accessibility for online participants.
