Kyowa Kirin adopts Benchling AI platform for R&D in Japan

Cognizant has announced its role in supporting Kyowa Kirin Co., Ltd. with the implementation of Benchling, an AI platform designed for research and development. The rollout will take place at Kyowa Kirin’s research sites in Japan, specifically the Tokyo Research Park and Fuji Research Park.

The Benchling platform aims to provide scientists with a centralized environment to capture structured data, execute AI models and agents, and automate workflows. Through Cognizant’s implementation support, researchers in Kyowa Kirin’s Research Division will be able to manage activities ranging from experiment planning and execution to data collection within a single integrated system.

This initiative is intended to accelerate R&D productivity and address the company’s expanding pipeline and diverse research needs. Kyowa Kirin, a global specialty pharmaceutical company, focuses on areas such as bone and mineral disorders, hematologic diseases, and rare diseases, utilizing technologies like advanced antibody technologies and hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy.
