Kyparissia Sunshine Folklore Festival opens with international dance groups

The 18th Cioff Kyparissia Sunshine Folklore Festival has officially commenced at the Kyparissia Folklore Museum in Greece. The event, co-organized by the Municipality of Trifylia and the Cultural and Educational Association of Kyparissia, features dance groups from France, Cuba (USA), Uzbekistan, Slovakia, and Taiwan.

The opening ceremonies included an interactive intercultural exchange where participants presented elements of their intangible cultural heritage. Visiting groups were given guided tours of the historic Arcadia area using both traditional methods and a dedicated digital application.

In addition to the performances, attendees visited exhibitions regarding the 50th anniversary of the ‘Trifylia Estia’ magazine and the traditional Karsaniki needlework of Karyas, Lefkada. The festival aims to promote and preserve intangible cultural heritage through international cooperation and cultural exchange.
