Kypseli infant death investigation: Parents claim third party involvement

New developments have emerged in the investigation regarding an infant found dead in a container and suitcase in the Kypseli neighborhood. The parents, a 43-year-old man and a 38-year-old German woman, are currently in custody.

While the couple initially claimed the infant died of natural causes, they have since changed their testimony. According to their lawyer, the parents now admit the death was a homicide but claim it was committed by a dangerous third party. They allege that while they were briefly out at a local mini-market, they returned to find this individual in a state of agitation. The parents claim the person stated the baby would not stop crying, causing them to lose control and stab the infant.

The parents further allege that this individual threatened and blackmailed them to keep the death and the body a secret. A 26-year-old Afghan man is also being held in custody alongside the parents as police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the death.
