Kyrgyzstan Health Minister Damirbek Osmonov visits Turkey

Kyrgyzstan Health Minister Damirbek Osmonov conducted a working visit to Turkey, highlighting the strong medical and political cooperation between the two nations. Osmonov, who completed his medical education at Hacettepe University and specialized in cardiology in Turkey, described the trip as both an official mission and a personal journey to the place where he began his medical career.

Osmonov emphasized that the strategic partnership between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey is reflected in significant medical support, including the provision of modern clinics, ambulances, and medical equipment. He noted that Turkey’s contributions during the pandemic had a tangible impact on saving lives. Additionally, he pointed out that hundreds of Kyrgyz youths are receiving medical training in Turkey, which he believes will transform the Kyrgyz healthcare system.

During the 12th Turkish Medical World Congress, Osmonov proposed the establishment of a Turkic World Medical Academy to foster the development of scientists across the Turkic region.
