Kyrgyzstan hosts conclusion of 6th World Nomad Games

The 6th World Nomad Games concluded in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, following a multi-day event held at various locations including the Issyk-Kul region. Approximately 3,000 athletes from 109 countries competed in 42 traditional sporting disciplines, such as horse games, national wrestling, archery, and eagle hunting.

Kyrgyzstan finished at the top of the official medal standings with 72 medals (30 gold, 29 silver, and 13 bronze). Kazakhstan secured second place with 64 medals, while Russia took third with 34 medals. A total of 29 countries earned medals during the competition.

The event also featured the ‘World of Nomads’ ethno-city at the Kirchin Plateau, where approximately 500 traditional Kyrgyz tents (bozuy) were erected to showcase regional cultural richness. During the closing ceremony, Kyrgyzstan officially handed over the hosting rights for the next games to the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
