Veteran journalist Kyriakos Kazakos has passed away at the age of 103. His death was announced by the Board of Directors of the Journalists' Union of the Athens Daily Newspapers (ESHEA) on August 20.

Born in Patras in 1923, Kazakos studied Political Science at Panteion University. He began his professional career in 1958 at the newspaper ‘Anexartitos Typos’ and later worked for several prominent publications, including ‘Eleftheria’, ‘Niki’, and ‘Mesimvrini’, as well as magazines such as ‘Fantasia’, ‘Eikones’, and ‘Hobby’.

In addition to his work in print and radio, including roles at EIR’s B’ Program and ANT1 radio, Kazakos was a member of the Panhellenic Association of Journalists of the National Resistance 1941-44. For his service during the National Resistance, he was honored by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff with the Medal and Diploma of National Resistance. He was also a long-standing member of the ESHEA Supervisory Committee.
