Kyriakos Mitsotakis inspects infrastructure projects in Katerini
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Katerini to inspect several major infrastructure projects, including the ongoing construction of the Katerini Music School and the city's Cultural Center.
The new Music School is part of a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) involving 17 school units in the Central Macedonia region, with a total budget of 159.2 million euros. The facility is expected to be completed in the first half of 2027 and will serve over 400 students. Mayor Ioannis Doumos noted that the project fulfills a demand that has existed for over thirty years.
During the visit, Mitsotakis also confirmed the government's commitment to funding the expansion of the local biological wastewater treatment plant. The PPP model for the school includes a 25-year maintenance agreement to ensure the long-term preservation of the facility.
