Kyriakos Mitsotakis targets November 1 for tax-free agricultural diesel

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has set November 1 as the target date for implementing tax-free agricultural diesel directly at the pump. This change aims to improve liquidity for farmers by allowing them to benefit from tax relief at the time of refueling, rather than paying the tax upfront and waiting for a subsequent refund.

During a meeting with a representative group of farmers in Neas Karyes, Larissa, Mitsotakis addressed the pressures facing the primary sector, attributing them to international uncertainty. He also identified resolving issues within the Organization for Subsidies for Agricultural Development (OSDE) as a top priority, as these pending matters affect the distribution of agricultural subsidies and the financial planning of farms. No specific timeline was provided for the resolution of OSDE issues.
