Kyriakos Mitsotakis unveils Greek economic plan through 2030

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has outlined a comprehensive economic and social development plan through 2030, presented at the Thessaloniki International Fair (DETh). The strategy focuses on increasing disposable income, supporting families, and stimulating investment.

Key measures for businesses include a gradual reduction of tax advance payments from 80% to 50% and the allocation of 1.5 billion euros to fund small and medium-sized enterprises. For self-employed individuals, tax advances will decrease from 55% to 50%.

Social welfare initiatives include a permanent 400 euro annual increase for pensioners over 65 and a zero income tax rate for farmers earning up to 20,000 euros. The minimum wage is projected to rise gradually to 1,000 euros by 2028. Public sector employees are slated to receive salary increases of up to 80 euros per month and a permanent 500 euro Christmas bonus starting in 2027.

Additionally, the government announced a 2 billion euro housing initiative called ‘Spiti mou 3’ and plans to abolish ENFIA (property tax) in small settlements.
