Kyriakos Mitsotakis visits Halkidiki to pledge economic support
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis conducted a series of visits in Halkidiki, signaling the start of a long pre-election period. During his tour, he emphasized the need for a self-reliant government to ensure stability and rapid decision-making.
In Arnaia, Mitsotakis met with representatives of the fishing industry to address economic pressures caused by rising energy costs. He pledged personal involvement and promised specific financial support measures to be announced in the coming days to help the sector remain competitive. Additionally, the government is preparing a dual intervention for heating oil, involving both pump price support and increased heating allowances, expected to be announced next week.
Mitsotakis also addressed international relations, noting that the recent visit of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio reaffirmed the deep strategic partnership between Greece and the United States, positioning Greece as a stabilizer in the region. His itinerary included visiting the Holy Monastery of the Annunciation of the Theotokos and attending the inauguration of the Ellinikos Chrysos copper and gold mine in Skouries.
