Kyriakos Mitsotakis emphasizes regional convergence during Greek tour

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has launched a series of regional visits, beginning with Pieria, to emphasize regional convergence and equal access to services across the country. During meetings in Pydna-Kolindros, Mitsotakis stated that ‘there is no forgotten region of our homeland’ and highlighted the importance of local development and infrastructure.

In Katéri, Mitsotakis addressed the need for political and fiscal stability ahead of the 2027 elections. He argued that stability is a prerequisite for economic progress, citing the importance of maintaining Greece's economic standing and its role within the European Union. He framed the upcoming electoral period as a choice between stability and potential uncertainty.

Additionally, the Prime Minister met with representatives from Aetolia-Acarnania to discuss regional priorities in health, education, and infrastructure, as well as support for the primary sector. In Rethymno, discussions focused on ongoing and planned educational and road infrastructure projects.
