Kyriakos Mitsotakis visits renovated Special School in Kaisariani
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the Rosa Imvrioti Special School in Kaisariani on Tuesday, September 1, to highlight a major national school renovation program. The school, which has operated since 1937, was fully renovated as part of a broader initiative involving the state and four major systemic banks.
Mitsotakis announced that 238 schools were completely renovated over the summer through this partnership. He stated that the total donation from the banking sector is expected to reach 400 million euros over a four-year period. The renovations, facilitated by the Marietta Giannou program and coordinated with Building Infrastructure, aim to provide safer and more accessible educational facilities.
Regarding Special Education, the Prime Minister noted that approximately 430 permanent teaching positions were filled this year, representing one in four of all new permanent appointments in primary and secondary education. He emphasized that the program of infrastructure upgrades and energy efficiency improvements will continue in subsequent years.
