During the BRICS Summit in India, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that any deployment of European military forces to Ukraine would be interpreted as a direct war against Russia. Putin asserted that Moscow has no intention of threatening European nations and argued that the current geopolitical tensions are fueled by a 'made-up threat' used by European elites to intimidate their citizens.

Putin identified the expansion of NATO and the 2014 change of power in Kyiv as the fundamental causes of the conflict in Ukraine. He further claimed that current political shifts in Europe, including the rise of the AfD in Germany, are consequences of systemic failures in Western security, economic, and political policies.

Separately, Ukrainian intelligence chief Oleksiy Ivaschenko provided an assessment of the conflict's duration, suggesting that Russia's military and economic capacity to sustain the war may be exhausted by 2028 due to high casualty rates and declining morale. Meanwhile, Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, noted that Europe is increasingly recognizing Russian aggression through hybrid warfare tactics, including sabotage and disinformation operations.
