Kythnos Municipality offers 300 euro subsidy to substitute teachers

The Municipality of Kythnos has passed a unanimous decision to provide a monthly subsidy of 300 euros to substitute teachers in both primary and secondary education who serve on the island.

The initiative aims to address the challenge of filling teaching vacancies in island regions, where high costs of living and transportation often discourage educators from relocating. By offering this financial incentive, the local authority hopes to make Kythnos a more attractive destination for teachers and ensure that schools are fully staffed for the upcoming academic year.
