Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji cast holds production announcement for new series

Actors Yosuke Eguchi and Nanako Matsushima appeared in surgical attire at a production announcement for the Fuji TV medical drama ‘Kyumei Byoto 24 Ji’ (ER 24 Hours). The series, which returns after a 13-year hiatus, is scheduled to begin broadcasting on October 12.

Eguchi reprises his role as surgeon Issei Shindo, while Matsushima returns as a deputy center director. The new installment aims to explore the generational gap between veteran doctors and younger staff, focusing on themes of work-style reform and the evolving values of medical professionals.

Kazuki Sawamura also returned to the franchise, reprising his role from the first series 27 years later, now portraying a hospital director. The event featured a video message from Masato Nakamura of Dreams Come True, who confirmed the theme song title as ‘Sayonara to Baton’.
