Kyumei Byoto 24-ji returns with new series and DREAMS COME TRUE theme

Fuji TV has announced the return of the medical drama series ‘Kyumei Byoto 24-ji’ (ER 24 Hours) for its sixth installment, marking the first new series in 13 years. The production will premiere on October 12, starring Yosuke Eguchi and Nana Matsushima, who reunite after 16 years to reprise their roles as doctors Issei Shindo and Kaede Kojima.

Musical group DREAMS COME TRUE will continue their long-standing association with the franchise, having provided theme songs for every series since the original launched in 1999. The group will perform a newly written song specifically for this season. The announcement was made by Masato Nakamura during a concert at Yokohama Arena.

The new series aims to explore themes such as work-style reforms, generational differences, and the evolution of medical ethics in a changing era. The plot follows Kojima as she serves as deputy center director at a metropolitan hospital, navigating value conflicts with younger medical staff before reuniting with Shindo.
