Kyumei Byoto 24-ji returns with new series starring Nanako Matsushima

The medical drama series ‘Kyumei Byoto 24-ji’ has returned for its sixth installment after a 13-year hiatus. The new series, co-starring Yosuke Eguchi and Nanako Matsushima, achieved significant viewership success, with its premiere recording a 10.0% household rating in the Kanto region and surpassing 3.27 million views on TVer.

The new season focuses on the generational divide and differing values between veteran and junior medical staff. Matsushima reprises her role as Kaede Kojima, who returns to the Tokyo Metropolitan Third Hospital Emergency Center to lead team building, while navigating friction with younger staff members who prioritize efficiency. The plot also explores the return of Issei Shindo, played by Eguchi, and the professional tensions surrounding his reintegration into the hospital.

Production reports highlight Matsushima’s intense dedication to her craft, noting her habit of spending several hours in deep script study to ensure precision, a discipline she developed following professional challenges earlier in her career.
