Kyung Hee University Medical Center announces new unified medical strategy
Kyung Hee University Medical Center celebrated its 55th anniversary by announcing a new five-year development strategy centered on a unified governance system. Under the new structure, the medical center integrates its medicine, dentistry, and Korean medicine departments to enhance cooperation in clinical care, research, education, and administration.
As part of this transition, the institution has rebranded its English name to ‘Kyung Hee Medicine’ to represent a broader integration of medical fields, industry, and global institutions. The strategy focuses on three core pillars: Research, Care, and Infrastructure.
In the research sector, the center aims to expand convergence and translational research using advanced technologies such as quantum computing and quantum sensing. Clinical goals include improving capabilities for treating cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and rare diseases through AI-based smart hospital systems and integrated medical care. To support these initiatives, the center plans to develop the ‘Kyung Hee Medicine Complex,’ a centralized hub designed to connect research, clinical practice, and industry through facilities like an AI clinical research center and open laboratories.
