Kyungil University volunteers to support 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships

Kyungil University has announced that its interpretation volunteer group, ‘KIU Bridge’, will provide linguistic support for the 2026 Daegu World Masters Athletics Championships. The group consists of 50 members, including students, international students, and faculty members with proficiency in languages such as English and Japanese.

The championships are expected to draw approximately 10,000 participants and companions from 106 different countries to Daegu. KIU Bridge members will be responsible for interpretation and on-site guidance to ensure smooth communication for international athletes and visitors during the 13-day event, which runs from the 22nd of the month through September 3rd.

A kickoff ceremony for the volunteers was held at Daegu EXCO on the 30th of last month. The university aims for this initiative to help students apply their language skills in an international setting while fostering cultural understanding and global competency.
