Kyustendil Chamber of Commerce proposes easier access to EU funds

The Kyustendil Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCPI) is advocating for changes to the application requirements for the Just Transition Fund to facilitate easier access to European financing for small and medium-sized enterprises in the Kyustendil region.

During a meeting with the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, KCPI representatives discussed the methodology for the program ‘Diversification and adaptation of small and medium-sized enterprises to the economic transition’. While the regional budget for Kyustendil has increased from €10.252 million to €17.292 million and the maximum intensity of non-reimbursable aid under the de minimis regime has risen from 65% to 75%, the Chamber argues that existing restrictions still hinder business access.

Key proposals from the Chamber include easing net sales revenue requirements, decoupling the maximum aid amount from company revenue, expanding eligible economic activities, and allowing newly established companies to apply. Additionally, the KCPI is requesting the restoration of the option to finance up to 100% of eligible costs under the de minimis regime and a review of technical and financial evaluation criteria.
