Kyustendil hosts fifth city Boccia tournament

The fifth city Boccia tournament was held in Kyustendil, bringing together children, youth, and adults in a competitive event focused on social inclusion and friendship. The tournament was organized by the Kyustendil Municipality and the Ilyo Voyvoda Sports Club for People with Disabilities.

Participants competed across three categories on three different courts. Boccia is an adaptive Paralympic sport designed to be accessible to individuals of various ages and abilities. The sport has been developed in Kyustendil since 2011 through an Olympism project involving the Kyustendil Municipality and the city of Poznan, Poland.

In addition to physical competition, the sport is noted for supporting motor skills, concentration, strategic thinking, and teamwork. The event included participants from local social services and several kindergartens, including Slantse, Slaveche, and Mechta.
