Kızılay advances social welfare through blood drives and new building project

The Turkish Red Crescent (Kızılay) is advancing social welfare initiatives through both immediate community engagement and long-term infrastructure development.

In Selçuklu, Mayor Ahmet Pekyatırmacı supported a blood donation drive organized by Kızılay at the Selçuklu Municipality service building. The event, held using Kızılay mobile blood centers, saw participation from municipal staff and local citizens to provide critical blood units for hospital patients.

Simultaneously, Kızılay's provincial leadership has launched a fundraising campaign to construct a new service building in Çorum. Located near the Bedesten on Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Street, the planned facility will consist of a basement and three floors. The lower levels are designed to function as a ‘Clothing House’ (Giyim Evi) to provide clothing to citizens in need with dignity. Kızılay officials, including Provincial President Mustafa Bilgin, have begun meetings in Istanbul with business leaders and philanthropists to secure resources for the project.
