L-39C Albatros jet trainers begin farewell flights in Czech Republic
The L-39C Albatros subsonic jet trainers from the LOM Praha Flight Training Center are conducting their final farewell flights. On August 27, a group of three aircraft will fly a route over the Vysočina, South Moravia, and Olomouc regions, departing from Pardubice.
The flight path includes scheduled flyovers at low altitudes of approximately 305 meters over locations such as Havlíčkův Brod, Jihlava, Třebíč, Brno, Přerov, and Olomouc. One of the aircraft is scheduled to land at Prague-Kbely to be transferred to the Military History Institute for the Aviation Museum collection.
A final flight over Central and South Bohemia is planned for September 2. The Albatros fleet, which has served for over 20 years, is being replaced by L-39 Skyfox aircraft. These new trainers will prepare pilots for future operations with fifth-generation F-35 fighter jets.
